For the Arborist, the Fetching Arch is a very versatile tool.  In it’s primary application, it was designed for use with winch-lines for steep slopes or sensitive areas that are off limits to wheeled vehicles such as ATV’s or tractors.  When stood over a log up to 25” in diameter, the standard tongs will lift the log whenever a pull is applied to the handle.  This toggling or over-centering action is positive on steep slopes, carrying the log clean off the ground toward the line pull.  On gentler terrain, the handle can be pulled down first, to lift the log and then proceed to carry the log along.  Capacity 2000lb with High load tires (as above), 1100 with standard low pressure flotation tires.
