Adverse slopes are a very definite limitation to vehicle travel and log moving techniques. In many steep terrain situations, it is impossible to get vehicles to anywhere but the roads, and logs must be handled from stable positions with winches. Adverse slope arches can be a tremendous advantage for carrying, rather than dragging, logs up-hill. Self loading Arches that pick up the log when pulled, are ideal for steep slope situations that still want minimum impact and lower power requirements to successfully handle certain log sizes.
