The Fetching Arch is designed to do the heavy lifting in steep slope and specialty applications. On slopes that are too steep to drive with ATV’s or Tractors, the Fetching Arch lifts and carries, or Fetches logs, with a winchline or dragline pull. The Fetching Arch is equipped with a set of 25”capacity tongs and a tow ring and handle in it’s standard configuration. The Fetch is 78” long, 58” wide and 44” tall, and in use stands up to be 78” tall when hooking into a log and then pulled into horizontal when loading up with a log. The Fetch is 198lb in it’s standard form and can be fitted with options described later with weights of up to 60 lb.
In nearly any situation, the Fetching Arch can be walked to, or lowered down to any log up to the 25”, 1 ton capacity, and stood up to grab the log. When a winch-line pull is applied; the Fetching arch “over-centers”, or “toggles” to pick up the log and carry it along in the direction of pull. The Fetch has no specified length, so can be set up at, or slightly ahead of the midway point, to pick up and carry the entire weight of any length log. The amount of impact and the power required are much less than in any other situation.
The Fetching Arch can be used by hand in Tree Service work, as it can be taken anywhere and used with great sensitivity in back yards or areas that are out of reach of heavier and more mechanized machinery. For this application, many chose to use the optional 2-man Handle, which is a six foot long T-bar extension handle for added leverage and control, which weighs 43lb. The 2-man Handle breaks down for transport and storage.
The Fetching Arch can also be fitted with a Tow tongue and Winch attachment, which effectively turns the toggling-to-lift arch into one that remains horizontal and picks up logs with the 3200lb winch and choker line. It hooks to any vehicle that has a trailer ball, such as Tractors, ATV’s or other utility vehicles. The Fetching Arch is the most versatile arch in the 2-foot diameter and one ton category.
